A knight of House Crane born at Red Lake, called Parmen the Purple for the purple plums upon his surcoat, who was named to King Renly Baratheon's Rainbow Guard. In A Clash of Kings he stood watch with Ser Emmon Cuy outside Renly's tent when Catelyn Tully came to treat with the king, but was absent when Renly was murdered, and so alone escaped the killing rage of Ser Loras Tyrell that slew his fellow guardsmen. After Renly's death Parmen defected to Stannis Baratheon, who sent him with Ser Erren Florent to Bitterbridge to gather Renly's foot. He was captured by the Tyrells there and afterward imprisoned at Highgarden.
